On 16 May 2025, over 50 senior legal professionals attended an inaugural session organised by the Senior Practitioners Committee of the Law Society of Singapore. The two-hour event was fully subscribed and it explored the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal practice.
This event was jointly led by Ms. Serena Lim, Founder & Director of Bizibody Technology, Mr. Lim Seng Swee, Director of OTP Law Corporation, and Mr. Eusuff Ali, Director of Keystone Law Corporation. It is part of the profession’s ongoing journey with legal technology.
Our senior legal practitioners were introduced to the fundamentals of generative AI, in particular, Gemini Advanced 2.5 Pro. Ms. Serena Lim conducted a live demonstration of how such large language models can be effectively deployed in legal work. Lawyers can benefit from factual analysis, summaries of complex information, and legal drafting, improving overall workflow productivity.
Singapore’s Supreme Court released a Guide on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools by Court Users, reaffirming that while AI may be used to support legal work, lawyers remain fully responsible for verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of all AI-generated content.
The senior lawyers in attendance raised thoughtful questions and offered candid reflections. Their curiosity and openness served as a reminder that transformation in the legal space is not limited by age. Rather, it is propelled by experience, wisdom, and a forward-thinking mindset.
