We’re really thrilled to be collaborating with the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) Legal Tech Mentor scheme. This initiative is aimed at reaching out to the lawyers in our midst who may not have had the chance to attend any legal tech CLE programmes. This is a reverse mentoring scheme, with students from our law schools (NUS and SMU Law), and from Temasek Polytechnic Law and Management programme taking on the role of mentor. These students will visit small and mid-sized firms to help raise awareness of the use of legal tech in their day-to-day work. The student volunteers are trained on various technology tools, with a view to giving them a basic grounding in the legal tech tools available – overview, key terms, and what tools work for what purpose.
Today, Bizibody is providing training on technology for document management and knowledge management. In the context of workflows and pain points for lawyers, our Managing Director Serena Lim explained what a legal document management system (DMS) does, and how it helps eliminate some of these pains. Students were also given a “look and feel” of a legal DMS, with a live demonstration of PageLightPrime.
Students were then given an overview of document automation technologies, and then provided access into such a system, and guided through the creation of a smart template. It was great having our partner from PageLightPrime, Viji Anbumani, on hand to field some of the students’ questions.
It was heartening to see the level of engagement, with students asking questions at various stages during the training. We look forward to conducting our next training session, on evidence management and review, next month.
In the meantime, Gong Xi Fa Cai! We wish you abundance in all areas – health, wealth and happiness!
